Healthy Banana and Date Snack BitesBanana and Date Snack Bites are delicious, healthy and super easy to cook. They have only five ingredients and are freezable. Ticks every box for snack food right there!

While they are best served warm, they taste just as good cool too. They’re soft and moist, sweet and just a tad crunchy and perfect with a cup of tea. It’s something about a hot chai that makes these all the more better.

I keep a few in the freezer at work for when those 3pm sweet cravings hit hard. They’re also great for a pre or post workout boost.

I cook these Healthy Banana and Date Snack Bites  in a muffin or cupcake tin so it makes portion sizes super easy too.

Banana and Date Protein Bites

Healthy Banana and Date Snack Bites

You’ll need (makes 12)

  • 2 cups almond meal (blanched or unbalanced)
  • 3 small ripe bananas
  • 6 medjool dates
  • 2 teaspoons chia seeds
  • Small handful of traditional oats (not instant, quick cook)

Toppings (optional)

  • Slice banana
  • Coconut
  • Cacao nibs or chocolate chips

Here’s the steps

  1. Add the dates to a bowl of hot water (for 10 minutes)
  2. Preheat the oven to 170 degrees Celsius.
  3. Lightly grease a 12 capacity muffin or cupcake tin
  4. Remove the dates and take the seeds out (the dates will be soft).
  5. Put all the ingredients into a food processor and pulse until combined.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the mix into each section in the tin, place a topping on top of each bite, and bake for 25 minutes.
  7. Take out of the oven and cover with a clean tea-towel or paper towel to cool.
  8. Use a spoon to help get the bites out of the tray.


  • Add cinnamon to the batter at the mixing stage
  • Drop spoonfuls of the mix onto a lined baking tray
  • Too make them a little naughty, serve with a lashing of cream cheese icing
